Hiking trek from Foum Zguid

PROGRAM

Day 1: Foum Zguid - Erg El Mhazil

We will depart in the early afternoon from Foum Zguid. In a 4x4 vehicle, we will enter the Iriki National Park with its vast plains and diverse landscapes, approaching the mountains known as the Moroccan desert's Colorado. These plateau-shaped rocks cut through the flat horizon, creating a surprising and impressive landscape. We will take the time to stop so you can contemplate them.

After experiencing the plains and peaks, we will reach the first dunes of the Sahara until we reach Erg El Mhazil. There, our team will have set up the tents and campsite where we will spend our first night. Surrounded by untouched nature, you can enjoy the sunset over the sea of sand stretching before you. Later, dinner will be served around the fire, and you can simply look up to admire the brilliantly starry sky of the desert. You will discover the joy of a peaceful night in the midst of the dunes, in the tranquility of the desert.

Day 2: Erg El Mhazil - Erg El Ghoule

After breakfast, we will break camp and set off to explore the desert on a approximately 4-hour walk. We will be accompanied by the caravan of camels carrying supplies and camping equipment. The hike will be at your own pace, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the landscapes, observe the small details that reveal the vibrant life happening in the dunes, listen to the song of the wind and the grains of sand beneath your feet. Fully enjoy these moments that reconnect you with yourself and the surrounding nature.

We will walk until we reach Erg El Ghoule. You can participate in setting up the camp, then rest, go observe the panorama from the highest dunes, or simply savor the present moment. In the evening, you can share the highlights of the day around the fire. We will play music as is customary among the nomads, creating a joyful and convivial atmosphere.

After a fulfilling day, you will appreciate a good night's sleep, either in tents or under the stars, depending on your preference.

Day 3: Erg El Ghoule – oasis Zaouait Sidi Abdenabi – Foum Zguid

The early risers will be able to admire the sunrise over the dunes to start the day well. The temporary camp will be dismantled to leave for the next and final destination: the small village of Zaouait Sidi Abdenabi. After about 2 hours of walking, we will reach our guest house near the village for lunch, either in our house or nearby under the shade of an acacia tree. Quietly, in the afternoon, we will resume the road to Foum Zguid crossing the desert plains of the dry lake of Iriki.

The rate includes accommodation, team, full board, 4x4 transportation from Foum Zguid.
