"La petite maison du Lac Iriki"

Guesthouse

Our charming guest house is a traditional family house in adobe,

restored in accordance with local architectural know-how.

We welcome our guests who are passing between Foum Zguid and M'Hamid

or as a point of departure or arrival for our bivouacs and trekkings in the desert.

Where is it located?
La Petite Maison du lac Iriki is located in the heart of the Iriki National Park, where the banks of the former lake were now drained.

Foum Zguid is about 60km away. From there you have to take the rocky track and cross desert landscapes but very varied to reach the village Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi. Our house is right next to this village. So you can access it only by 4x4 or motorbike. If you do not have a 4x4, we can arrange a transfer to pick you up at Foum Zguid.

How many guests can our hostel accommodate?

It has 4 rooms: 3 double rooms and 1 room for up to 3 people, or 9 people maximum. Single beds or double beds, we leave you the opportunity to choose. For larger groups, we also install traditional tents around the house to welcome everyone for beautiful moments of sharing with ease. In the middle of the house, a shaded patio, nicknamed the "place of joy", distributes the different rooms of the house. A lounge welcomes you to have tea and enjoy the heat in winter and the freshness in summer.

Next to the house, a small corner of relaxation to sit by the fire, take meals under the stars and enjoy the evenings in music in the heart of nature, in absolute calm. You can even install your mattresses to enjoy a night under the stars, an experience often very appreciated by our travelers.

Can we eat in our guest house?
We cook on site fresh meals made with local ingredients, from the village or Foum Zguid.

So we offer dinner and lunch and choose from: couscous (vegetarian, meat or chicken), tajine (vegetarian, meat or chicken), turkey skewers. Each dish is accompanied by a Moroccan salad or soup, fruit and tea.

If you want to go on a day trip with us, to see the rock carvings for example, we can provide a picnic.

We also serve sweet and savory breakfasts.

Just inform us in advance to have everything you need on site to treat yourself!

Which is the best season to come in the desert?
Our guest house is open most of the year except from mid-June to mid-September because the desert temperatures are too hot.

What activities to do in Foum Zguid and around our house?

Activities are numerous in the area!

Coming to the desert gates without seeing the dunes would be frustrating! Also we organize bivouacs from one night, in the dunes, with a start in camel or 4x4 from the house. Possible programs here.
