All about our bivouac

Our bivouac is the ideal place to experience all the magic of desert.

We thought of it as an intimate cocoon so that you can feel good and with the impression of having the whole desert just for you.

Where is it located?

Our bivouac is in the heart of the Iriki National Park, about 60km from Foum Zguid, between Foum Zguid and M'Hamid El Ghizlane. It is located in the dunes of Erg El Mhazil, a wild dune space, far from the tourist crowds. You will find all the comforts for a pleasant stay, an upscale bivouac, a charming bivouac, which highlights the decoration and local crafts.

What is the capacity of our bivouac?

Our bivouac in the dunes has 4 large family tents.

It can accommodate 1 single person, 1 couple or 1 family of 4 people. You can ask for a double bed or single bed.

The maximum capacity of the bivouac is 15 people.

If you want to organize a stay for a larger group, we always have the possibility to increase the number of beds.

What are the services and facilities of our bivouac?

Restaurant:

We have a kitchen and a cook who will prepare typical Moroccan dishes with fresh and local ingredients: tajines, couscous, Moroccan soup, mixed salads.

Hearty breakfasts are sweet and savory: bread, jam, olive oil, omelette, cheese, tea, coffee etc

We adapt to your diets and allergies. Just inform us as soon as possible to provide the necessary ingredients.

Bed linen:

Our bivouac is equipped with a recent and quality bedding.

We provide bed linen, sheets and blankets.

In winter we provide you with the necessary quantities of blankets so that you do not have cold.

You do not need to provide your sleeping bag.

You will also find shower towels.

Showers and toilets:

You will find a space combining showers and toilets.

We make sure that it always remains perfectly clean.

Camel ride:

In the desert, the dromedary is essential for human survival. This is a great opportunity for you to discover this peaceful animal.

We offer walks of about 1 hour in the dunes or it is also possible to go for a day hike with dromedaries and chamelier.

This service is only on reservation. Please specify this at the time of booking.

Trek :

Our bivouac is the ideal starting point or return for treks.

Enjoy a comfortable night at the bivouac combined with a trek over 2 or more nights in the vast expanses of dunes of the Sahara. You will live in the way of the nomads, in a return to simplicity that does good and to leave on foot in the heart of the desert.

Visit the village:

At the foot of the volcanic mountains of Jbel Bani, we see our village: Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi. This is our nomadic village, where we grew up. The only village in this large part of the desert.The village is accessible on foot by crossing the flat bottom of the old lake Iriki for an easy walk of about 1h or 2h. It is also possible to reach it by 4x4 to visit it.

These visits are by foot and we will tell you about the history of the village, the tomb of the marabout Sidi Abdenabi, vestiges of the past but also we will visit the oasis where inhabitants cultivate their plots. We will see beautiful vegetables, irrigation system and water management. A beautiful cultural parenthesis to complete your adventure in the desert.

Next to our village, is located our house "La petite maison du lac Iriki". You are welcome to stay there and discover more the life of nomads in this atypical place full of charm. At what time can you come to the desert?

Our bivouac can accommodate you all year round.

Summer, from mid-June to mid-September, being very hot with temperatures around 45 degrees and falling hardly at night, we do not recommend this period.
