TOUR PROGRAM
DAY 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou
We will leave in the morning from your hotel in Marrakech to get off at Ait Ben Haddou where you can visit the magnificent ksar listed by UNESCO. For this, we will take the road of Tizi N Tichka then by Telouet where another beautiful kasbah is to visit, once a sumptuous residence very popular, it brings together all the refinement of Moroccan architecture.
You can visit the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou freely, through the small streets dotted with workshops or take a guide on site (optional).
In the evening you will sleep at Ait Ben Haddou in a charming hotel where you will also have dinner.
DAY 2 : Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora
After breakfast, we will leave for Ouarzazate where you will have the opportunity to visit the Atlas cinema studios. Then we will go down the valley of the Drâa with its beautiful palm groves, passing through Agdz and then Zagora where we will stop to spend the night in the relaxed atmosphere of the palm grove.
DAY 3 : Zagora – Tamegroute – M’Hamid
In the morning, the tour continues southward. First by Tamegroute where you will have a lunch break and it will also be the opportunity to visit the world-famous pottery workshops and recognizable by their green enamel made in an ancestral way.
Then you will join M'Hamid at the gates of the desert. The atmosphere is still different and peaceful, a place to start the desert and the ballet of 4x4’s that go on an adventure. You will spend the night at M'Hamid.
We will pass by Tamegroute to see the traditional pottery. We will go down to M'Hamid at the gates of the desert where we will spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 4 : M’Hamid – Erg Chegaga
In the morning, 4x4 departure to the dunes. We will make a detour through the sacred oasis for lunch and enjoy the freshness of the place. In the afternoon, we will reach the sand dunes to the bivouac of Erg Chegaga, located near the highest dune in Morocco, at 300m high.
You can enjoy these immense landscapes, the sea of sand that stretches before you. At sunset, you will go for a camel ride, a magical moment where the desert is sublimated by the flamboyant colors of the setting sun.
In the evening you will enjoy a good dinner and an evening of music around the fire. Take the time to observe the stars so bright in the desert sky. You will sleep over the large tents of the bivouac, in absolute calm.
DAY 5 : Erg Chegaga – maison d’hôtes
In the morning, after a good breakfast in the open air, the 4x4 will drive us to our guest house.
It is located on the edge of the dry lake of Iriki, facing the vast plains and dunes in the distance. It is a traditional house in adobe, you will be welcomed for lunch around a delicious couscous.
You will have time to rest, enjoy a nap in the shade of acacias. Then in the late afternoon, we will show you the nomadic village next to the house. It is an opportunity to talk about the agriculture within the oasis, the life of families here and see the vestiges of the past. A visit that immerses you in the heart of people’s lives.
In the evening we will serve you dinner by the open fire. You can then enjoy a night in the silence of the place.
DAY 6 : maison d’hôtes – Foum Zguid
After breakfast, we will drive in 4x4 to Foum Zguid crossing the dry lake of Iriki which shows different landscapes, between savannah and ancient mountains.
In Foum Zguid, you can walk around this small town, visit the old kasbah and palm grove or enjoy the sunset on the heights of the city. It is a quiet little town where you can enjoy a tea on the terrace watching the bustle of the city, buy good local products in small shops such as olive oil, almonds, dates. You will sleep in a charming riad in Foum Zguid.
DAY 7 : Foum Zguid – Marrakech
Departure after breakfast. This day marks the return to Marrakech by passing through Tazenakht, city of the Berber carpet and the pass of Tizi N Tichka. It takes about 5 to 6 hours to drive.
