PROGRAMME

Day 1: Foum Zguid - Oasis - Bivouac in the dunes

Departure from Foum Zguid at 2pm, we take the track in 4x4 towards the bivouac of Erg El Mhazil. We will cross the stony plains of the Iriki National Park.

Open your eyes and admire the landscapes that evolve over the kilometers. We will stop in an oasis with a breathtaking view of the plateau-shaped mountains and the famous "tajine" mountain.

Upon arrival at the Erg El Mhazil camp in the late afternoon, you will be welcomed with a welcome tea and then you can climb the large dune to admire the sunset and the sea of dunes that stretches all around, allowing you to see in the distance the mountains of Djebel Bani. It is a moment of poetry and serenity where time stops. Then, you can enjoy a delicious meal made by our cook and you will meet around the fire. Contemplate the celestial vault that reveals its most beautiful stars in the silence of the desert. You will enjoy a peaceful night under the large tents.

Day 2: Bivouac in the dunes - camel hike

In the morning, admire the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet. You will then join our camel driver and our nomad cook for a day hike in the heart of the beautiful dunes of Iriki.  Walking at the pace of camels, next to their hushed steps, is the best way to approach the desert wildlife.

Observe the traces of dune animals in the sand, watch for the silhouettes of gazelles or fennecs on the horizon. Discover the flora of the dunes that are not seen from a distance and which is home to so much life. The walking time will be determined by your pace. Children can ride camels if they are tired.

This is a unique hiking experience that only the desert can offer. At lunchtime, in the middle of the dunes, the nomadic tent will be set up to offer a shaded living room and a kitchen area. Our cook will prepare a picnic meal. Continue to admire the dunes, tea in hand. After lunch, you will have a rest period to avoid walking at the hottest hours. Then you will return quietly to the bivouac where a sweet quiet evening awaits you.

Day 3: Bivouac in the dunes - Jbel Bani and nomad village

Once breakfast, you will leave in 4x4 to our guest house located 20 minutes facing the dunes. This is the starting point for a 2 to 3-hour hike in the Jbel Bani, a rocky ridge that marks the natural border between the Atlas and the Sahara. In the hollow of rocks and canyons polished by time, you will discover prehistoric paintings and engravings with meanings sometimes remained mysterious. A fascinating journey through time, treasure guarded by the nomads of the desert.

You will come back for lunch. A hearty Moroccan meal served in our colorful living room or on our panoramic terrace. Then enjoy a relaxing time in the shade of acacia trees. You will then walk to our village for a guided tour in the oasis where vegetables and henna are grown. You will discover the irrigation system and water management in the heart of the desert. Then you will have tea with a family of the village who welcomes you with pleasure at their home, it is a precious moment of sharing in our culture.

In the late afternoon, you will find the dunes for a last evening in the bivouac. An evening marked by a time of music around the fire, under the celestial vault.
