The desert from Marrakech in 2 days and 1 night is possible. It is even the fastest access to the desert from Marrakech, and also the most wild and authentic.
Day 1: Marrakesh – Foum Zguid – dunes
You will be picked up from your hotel in Marrakech at 8:00 a.m. on your way to the Sahara desert in Iriki National Park. The road itself is a beautiful journey through varied landscapes that we will travel: the pass of Tizi N'Tichka in the mountains of the Atlas with its red rocks, the town of Tazenakht known for its production of handmade carpets and along the road follow small typical villages.
You will have lunch on the way and then you will arrive at Foum Zguid (about 6 hours drive between Marrakech and Foum Zguid). There you will stop in this small town nicknamed the gates of the desert, a break to have tea, choose the chèche that will transform you into a true nomad and protect you from the sun, wind and sand.Then, we take the track to our bivouac in the heart of the dunes. The gravel trail, which is only accessible by 4WD, crosses vast landscapes, from plateau-shaped mountains to the plains of Iriki Lake. So we will arrive quietly at the Erg El Mhazil, in the late afternoon. You can enjoy the sunset at the top of the dunes during a camel ride and then enjoy a delicious tajine prepared by our cook. At night you will sleep under the large tents where a comfortable bed awaits you.
Day 2: Dunes - Marrakech
After breakfast, we take the road back to Marrakech by crossing the national park of Iriki until Foum Zguid and then through Tazenakht.You will arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day where we drive you to your hotel.
