Trekking rock carvings and Erg Chegaga
from Agadir or Marrakech

This beginner level trek is a circuit through the Iriki National Park and the large dunes of Chegaga. From historical heritage with rock carvings to wildlife viewing near Erg Chegaga, it’s a complete and relaxed stay.
PROGRAM
Day 1: Marrakech or Agadir - Foum Zguid - Guest house
Departure from Marrakech or Agadir or other big city around 9am from your hotel.
Passage through Tazenakht to visit a Berber carpet cooperative, specialty of the region.
Arrival in Foum Zguid where you can have lunch and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this small town at the gates of the desert.
Then we go in 4x4 towards our guest house by the track. There is about 2h30 ride through the plains of Iriki National Park. There will be a stop at the oasis Laarjimia with a magnificent view of the mountains of Madouar El Kbir. Then on a site of prehistoric fossils.
Arriving home, you can relax in this quiet environment. We will serve you a good tajine by the fire. You can enjoy a good night’s sleep.
Day 2: Guest house - rock engravings
In the morning we go to the mountains of Djebel Bani located just behind the house for a hike of about 2h30 where you will see the engravings and cave paintings.
Return home for lunch followed by a rest period. At the end of the day, before the sun sets, we will visit the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi just next to the house to make you discover agriculture in the oasis, the life of the inhabitants, the mausoleum of the marabout Sidi Abdenabi and the history of the village.
Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 3: Guest house - nomadic school - Erg El Ghoule
After breakfast, departure on foot to the nomadic school to see how the schooling of the desert children goes. We will have a picnic nearby, in the shade of acacias.
In the afternoon, we take the walk for about 2 hours, until the erg El Ghoule where the camp will be installed for the night. You will have the pleasure of experiencing sunsets on the dunes, nights under the stars and evenings around the fire, surrounded by nature.

Day 4: Erg El Ghoule - Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, we retreat to the dunes of Chegaga.
Installation of the camp in the dunes. Rest time. Evening around the fire and night under small tents or under the stars.

Day 5: Erg Chegaga
Rest day in the dunes of Chegaga. You can enjoy exploring the surroundings and relax. We will show you how to bake bread in the sand.
Day 6: Erg Chegaga - Erg El Grisim
After breakfast, departure for a last time of walk towards the Erg El Grisim which will allow you to discover another scenery by approaching the mountains of Jebel Bani. It is a place that lends itself well to the observation of wildlife such as gazelles, we hope you will have the chance to see them.
Day 7: Erg El Grisim - Foum Zguid or M'Hamid - Agadir or Marrakech
Depending on your return city, we will take a different route.
For Marrakech, Ouarzazate or Zagora: we go up the Drâa valley by M'Hamid then a stop in Tamegroute to see the workshops of the potters whose specialty is local.
You will have lunch on the way where you wish.
We will drive you back to your hotel.
For Agadir, Taroudant, Tata: we leave in the direction of Foum Zguid by Tazenakht then Taliouine, the city of saffron where you can stop for lunch and see one of the saffron cooperatives.
We will drive you back to your hotel.
