Wild camp in the Moroccan desert's Colorado
2 days 1 night
We invite you to embark on an adventure in magnificent landscapes during a bivouac, immersing yourself in nature to fully experience the beauty of the oases and tabular mountains, and to immerse yourself in nomadic life.
PROGRAM
Day 1: Foum Zguid - Oasis Laarjimia - bivouac sauvage
In the early afternoon, we will depart from Foum Zguid in a 4x4 towards the Laarjimia oasis.
The oasis is located at the foot of the Djebl Madouar El Kbir mountains, often referred to as the Moroccan desert's Colorado, due to their resemblance to the American mountains in terms of shapes and colors. This oasis, nestled in the vast plains of the Iriki National Park, offers breathtaking views of the unique tabular plateaus, including the "tajine" mountain.
We will reach the bivouac set up by our team for a night in the heart of the oasis. You can enjoy the magnificent landscapes and the tranquility of the surroundings, encounter the camels that come to drink from the well, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a few lizards hiding among the rocks. Nearby, the small sand dunes remind us of the close proximity of the Sahara Desert. We will have lunch in the shade of palm trees, and you can explore the surroundings to discover the treasures of this rich nature.
As the sun sets, the mountains will reveal their impressive fiery colors of ochre and red, an unparalleled spectacle where time stands still.
We will share a dinner by the fire, exchanging stories of the desert. After observing the starry spectacle, you will enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in the tents, amidst the absolute silence of the oasis.
Day 2 : Oasis Laarjimia - Foum Zguid
The next day, after a delicious Moroccan breakfast, we will return to Foum Zguid. You also have the option to continue your journey through the Iriki National Park to the dunes of Erg Chegaga, or take the road leading to Zagora in the east or Tata in the west from Foum Zguid to explore the southern regions of Morocco.
