Tour from Marrakech - Foum Zguid - Erg Chegaga - Zagora

In the morning we pick you up at your hotel from Marrakech towards the desert. The road itself is a beautiful journey through varied landscapes that we will travel: the pass of Tizi N'Tichka in the mountains of the Atlas with its red rocks, the town of Tazenakht known for its production of handmade carpets and along the road follow small typical villages. You will have a break for lunch on the way and taste typical Moroccan dishes. We will follow the palm grove of Zguid until we reach Foum Zguid, at the gates of the desert.

At Foum Zguid, you will be welcomed in a charming riad, quiet and where you can relax after the trip, discover the surroundings on foot if you wish as the small city center or the palm grove. You will dine at the riad around a delicious tajine.

We will take advantage of the morning to make a visit of Foum Zguid and in particular see the old kasbah and the plameraie where date palms grow. We will have lunch in the center of Foum Zguid where you will enjoy the atmosphere of the small town from where the 4x4 leave to the desert.

In the early afternoon, we will leave from Foum Zguid, by 4x4 to take the track. Here begins the Iriki National Park, a place preserved from the tourist bustle where nature is grandiose. On the way, we will stop at an oasis that offers a magnificent view of the tabular mountains called the Moroccan colorado. A little further on, we will go to see a site of prehistoric fossils.

We will finally arrive at our guest house, surrounded by vast plains dotted with acacias, with the sand dunes in the distance. You will be warmly welcomed by a welcome tea and you can enjoy the view of the vast plains with sunset.

In the evening you can enjoy a delicious tajine, cooked with fresh vegetables grown in the village. You can then enjoy a good night’s sleep in absolute calm.

In the morning, we will show you the nomadic village, Zaouait Sidi Abdenabi, to share with you the life of the inhabitants in these places. You will discover agriculture within the oasis with its water management system. We will also show you the vestiges of the past that constitute the history of the village. It is located a few hundred meters walk from our guest house. We will return for lunch at home.

In the afternoon, you will go for a camel ride to the dunes, about 2H. You will join our bivouac in the heart of the dunes. You can enjoy these large spaces of nature, feet in the sand. Shortly before sunset, you can walk up one of the large dunes to admire the sunset from above, a magical moment.

In the evening after dinner, you can contemplate the beautiful starry sky, specific to the desert. Then you will sleep in the comfortable tents of the bivouac, in the quiet of the desert.

After a hearty breakfast at the bivouac, we will leave in 4x4 towards M'Hamid, down the valley of the Drâa. So you can see the whole valley and its beautiful palm groves. We will make a stop by Tamegroute where you can visit the artisan pottery workshops of which it is the specialty, world-renowned and celebrated for their green color. We will reach Zagora where you will spend the night in a charming hotel in the heart of the palm grove

The next day, we quietly take the road towards Marrakech by the road that passes through Ouarzazate. We will take the opportunity to go through the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This magnificent ksar invites you to walk through the small alleys with traditional adobe walls, climb up the hill for a superb panorama on the valley. You can enjoy lunch in the kasbah.Then, the road continues to Marrakech through the pass of Tizi NTichka for a late afternoon arrival.
