Dunes to dunes, from Iriki to Chegaga

PROGRAMME

Day 1: Foum Zguid - Bivouac in the dunes

Departure from Foum Zguid in the afternoon (time defined according to the season). We will leave in 4x4 on the tracks of the Paris Dakar, in the national park of Iriki.

The adventure begins on these rocky slopes that will lead us to the oasis of Laajirmia where we will make a first stop to admire this magnificent view of the mountains of Moroccan Colorado which each have their nickname.

Then, we will stop at a site of prehistoric marine fossils.

Finally, after having covered 60km of tracks, we will arrive at the bivouac Le Secret des dunes, located in the heart of the sand dunes, in such a peaceful place. You will be greeted by a welcome tea and you can settle in one of the large comfortable tents of the bivouac.

At sunset, you will go for a camel ride in the dunes. The opportunity to see these landscapes from a different angle and in an unusual way.

In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner followed by a relaxing evening where you can admire the stars, enjoy the silence of the desert.

You will then sleep in a comfortable, quiet bed.

Day 2: Bivouac in the dunes - Erg Chegaga - Guest house - Foum Zguid

After breakfast, the adventure continues towards the dunes of Erg Chegaga. You will go by 4x4 on the flat ground of the dry lake of Iriki until you reach the first tamaris that announce the beginning of the dunes of Chegaga.We will stop near a bivouac where you can leave on foot towards the great dune of Chegaga. The bravest can challenge themselves to climb all the way up, otherwise other dunes will offer you magnificent views, perfect for beautiful photos of the sea of sand.

In the late morning, we will return to our guest house, about 45 minutes away, in the middle of Iriki National Park for lunch. It is a place full of charm and colors, right next to our nomadic village, the only village in the region. You will enjoy a delicious lunch in the shade and facing the vast plains dotted with acacias. This is an opportunity to see different desert landscapes and be welcomed in the heart of the life of the people of the desert.In the afternoon we will take the road back to Foum Zguid by marking breaks along the way that are always the opportunity for great panoramic views.
