Departure from Agadir to the desert
Travel time: 20 min from the airport
Arrival at the airport, you will take a taxi or bus to reach the city center. You will be welcomed in Agadir in the hotel where we will spend our first night (double rooms). Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy strolling in the souk El Had with its intoxicating colors and scents or on the large beach of Agadir. In the evening, we will be gathered to start getting acquainted and go to dinner all together near the hotel. You will be a group of 10 to 15 participants, in a friendly atmosphere, to laugh, share and discover each other.
From Agadir to the desert
Travel time: 5 to 6h and 2h30 by 4X4
In the morning, the adventure begins! We will take the road towards the east of the country passing through Taroudant then Taliouine, alternating between agricultural plains and mountains of the lower Atlas for about 5 hours of driving. We will take breaks on the way then have lunch in Tazenakht, 1h30 from Foum Zguid. Arrived at Foum Zguid in the early afternoon, we climbed by 4x4 to take the stony track, the one once used by the Paris-Dakar (about 2 hours to 2 and 30 minutes of travel). Be careful it shakes! We will cross the vast plains of Iriki National Park which will lead us to the first desert dunes, those of Erg El Mhazil. We will be welcomed by the camel driver and the team who will have set up the bivouac in the middle of the dunes for the first night.
There you can admire the sunset with a splendid panorama at the top of the great dune, a moment of magic where time stops. Our cook will prepare a delicious tagine for us and we will meet in the evening around the fire under the starry sky. You will enjoy a good night’s sleep in the absolute calm of the desert.

First day of trek in the dunes
Walking time: 3h
Start your day admiring the sunrise to fill you with all its energy, feel its first rays in the freshness of the morning. After a good Moroccan breakfast, we will leave for our first time walking in the dunes. We will be accompanied by the caravan of camels that carries food and bivouac equipment. From dunes to dunes, we will reach, after a 3-hour walk, another dune area. There we will have lunch and set up camp for the night. In the afternoon you can enjoy a rest time, explore the surrounding dunes, read, write or meditate to relax and let time pass peacefully, letting go. We will dine by the fire or under the living room tent depending on the weather. You can choose to sleep in tents (double tents) or under the stars in harmony with the desert.
Second day of trekking in the dunes
Walking time: 2 to 3 hours
The next morning, we will take advantage of the morning coolness to break camp and walk towards new dunes, for 3 hours of walking. There, new landscapes are to be discovered because over the kilometers the decorations evolve and reveal new fascinating spaces. We will walk at your pace, always accompanied by the camel caravan. The installation of the campsite in the heart of the dunes and all life’s times will be moments of sharing and exchange around the life of nomads and their traditions: preparing tea, cooking bread baked in the sand, how to live in the desert, looking for wood etc. You will feel that you adapt your rhythm to that of the sun and nature.
From the dunes to the nomad village
Walking time: 2 to 3 hours
A new day begins in the beauty of the dune landscapes, facing the sea of sand. After breakfast, we leave for a completely different setting, that of the dry lake of Iriki. Let us leave the sand to walk on the flat and dry lands of the old lake, still blanched with the salt that was once found in its waters. Plains as far as the eye can see, swept by the gentle desert wind that we will cross for a 2h30 walk to the oasis of Zaouait Sidi Abdenabi. A few steps from the small village, is our guest house, family restored in the local tradition. It is a place of relaxation where one enjoys contemplating the panorama of nature, dotted with acacia trees and dreaming of the dunes that can be guessed in the distance. You will notably enjoy taking a good shower there.
We will have lunch in the shade a traditional meal made with local ingredients and vegetables grown in the village. In the afternoon we will go on foot to visit the village and the oasis. We will explain to you how life goes here, the agriculture within the oasis and the vestiges of the past. In the evening we will have dinner and we will meet around the fire for a moment of traditional music, in front of the house, facing the immense plains of Lake Iriki, a moment of smooth transition where the end of the journey approaches but where we savor the last moments until the end.
Return to Agadir by Foum Zguid and Tazenakht
Travel time: 2h30 of 4X4 and 5 to 6h by road
The day that rises on the plains, facing the house, is a sight not to be missed. After breakfast, we will head back towards Foum Zguid, cross the dry lake of Iriki in a 4x4 where we will take a break to observe the fossils that lined the bottom of the ancient lake. Then we will go up the Zguid valley, crossing Tazenakht, the city of wool carpets, before reaching Agadir in the late afternoon. Arrived at the hotel, you will be free to enjoy your time, rest or walk in the city.

This day marks the end of the journey, with your return by plane or the extension of your trip if you have planned to continue exploring Agadir and its diversity, I will not fail to advise you on what to see.
